How to Volunteer

There are lots of ways to get involved with ACSS! If you already know where you want to serve, please email and let us know which day you are available. An overview of our opportunities are listed below:


Café 458 Sunday Brunch Opportunities

On Sundays, Café 458 transforms into a restaurant open to the public for a delicious southern brunch.  This builds awareness of the organization in the community while raising revenue for our programs.  Volunteers are needed every Sunday for cooking, hosting and serving tables. (Individual and Group opportunity)

CareerWorks Opportunities

  • Serve meals– Opportunities are available Monday – Friday from 10am-1pm to prepare and serve meals for clients. (Individual and Group opportunity)
  • Host a workshop – ACSS participants begin the program with a 3-week employment and life skills curriculum. We are always looking for volunteers to share professional expertise in interview skills, job search techniques, resume development, workplace ethics, team building, financial management, and much more.  (Individual and Group opportunity)
  • Computer Lab Support – The ACSS computer lab is constantly abuzz with activity as clients search for jobs, correspond with potential employers, build resumes and learn valuable computer skills. Computer lab volunteers help our clients in all of these processes.  (Individual and Group opportunity)


Administrative Opportunities

With a small team serving a large number of clients each day, any and all office help is appreciated!  Tasks include front desk assistance, filing and data entry.  (Individual volunteer opportunity)


Special Projects

Special projects that help improve facilities and build program capacity our available throughout the year.  These opportunities can accommodate large groups and can be scheduled according to the needs of the group and ACSS.  Contact for more details. 


Special Events
